Kicking off the 2018-19 year!

We're so excited to expand our operations for the 2018-19 school year! After running our first conference and hackathon series last year, we were inspired to expand our impact nationally. The members of our executive team hail from all across the nation, including New York, New Orleans, Baltimore, and Austin in addition to the Bay Area. To that end, we're launching three new initiatives in addition to organizing our second hackathon:

1. Computational Linguistics Clubs. We're creating a yearlong curriculum that covers the mathematical, computational, theoretical, and applied aspects of computational linguistics. We are distributing this curriculum to (a) computational linguistics clubs and (b) broader technology clubs that want to incorporate computational linguistics into their meetings.
2. Workshops. We will be hosting several workshops and workshop series at various venues across the country. We will be running our own workshops and presenting at partner events!
3. Chapters. We now support regional chapters of LingHacks, which will function as local computational linguistics outreach programs. These chapters can host clubs, workshop series, mini-hackathons, and more!
